LIFEGUARD

Job Description: Lifeguards are responsible for the safety and well being of individuals using the City of Spokane swimming pool facilities. This includes: Being alert; preventing situations that may result in accidents or injury; administering first aid and rescues appropriately and promptly; and tactfully enforcing of pool rules and regulations. Lifeguards are responsible for assisting with routine pool maintenance, custodial duties and other tasks as assigned by supervisors. Good public relations skills must be exhibited at all times. Work schedules will vary.

Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 15 years old, dependable, and have maturity and skills to meet job requirements. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training r.2001, CPR for Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Preventing Disease Transmission certifications are required before June 10, 2002.

Rate of Pay: Starting at $9.00 per hour.
