The First Tee Inland Northwest
Launch of First Tee program, Inland Northwest Chapter on June 14
First Tee is dedicated to helping all children in the community regardless of where they live, what their background is or their ability to pay, an opportunity to play golf and learn important life skills. Scholarships are available. The program has launched in Spokane with students at Grant School playing at the Creek at Qualchan. The dedication ceremony featured Mayor Mary Verner getting a golf lesson from one of the First Tee students. The First Tee Inland Northwest website has information on upcoming July series of classes.
A Word from Ron McKay
Board Member and Vice President
First Tee of the Inland Northwest
"The importance of working with the City to accomplish common goals. We are extremely pleased to have a solid working relationship with Qualchan, the Parks Board, the Mayor’s office and the School Board. It is extremely important as our demands increase that we be able to achieve the changes we all agree on in our efforts to earn the strong reputation that First Tee has nationally. We look forward to being able to expand our program to other courses to reach children we can’t reach now because of transportation issues or full classes. We are dedicated to helping all children in the community regardless of where they live, what their background is or their ability to pay."
